Do you have a musty odor, water ingress, foundation crack or just questions regarding perimeter drainage?
The first step in solving a drainage issue is to have a free assessment. This assessment is to be completed by an experienced, knowledgeable drain tile estimator. As the age of homes can vary over 100 years and with building code requirements being different in each municipality, city or district, it is important to educate ourselves with your exact situation. Once an assessment has been completed, a written quotation will be provided. Often a series of tests such as test holes, hydro flushing or video inspection can be completed to determine the exact cause of the ingress and limit the size of the repair.

We were contacted to assess the source of the water ingress which was below a window in the basement kitchen. A foundation crack was evident with efflorescent stains on the wall and discoloration on the floor. As you can see in the attached photos, the wood framing is rotten indicating the problem has been there for quite some time. Most homeowners hesitate in wanting to remove drywall to identify the source of the ingress. This visual proof from the inside confirms the exact cause and allows us to accurately estimate. On this particular job, we had a full crew of four people working through fairly tough conditions to complete within the day and allow the homeowner and tenant to move on with their lives.
Foundation cracks are common on most homes, but it is the soil conditions which largely contribute to the water ingress through them. Clay based soil is found in surrey, Langley, maple ridge just to name a few. When the clay becomes saturated with water in the winter months it creates hydraulic water pressure against the crack which causes the ingress.
